Babin, R-Woodville, has represented Texas's 36th Congressional District since 2015. He previously served as mayor of Woodville and as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He is a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure and the Science, Space and Technology committees and is the Ranking Member of the House Space Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics. Babin is a dentist and serves as a member of the Doctors Caucus and co-chair of the Border Security Caucus.
Burgess, R-Lewisville, has represented Texas' 26th Congressional District since 2003. He sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the powerful House Rules Committee, and the subcommittees on Oversight and Investigations and Consumer Protection and Commerce. Previously, Burgess practiced as a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology.
