Huberty, R-Houston, has represented House District 127 since 2011. He serves as chair of the House Public Education Committee and sits on the County Affairs Committee. Previously, he served as board president and trustee for the Humble ISD school board. Huberty also serves as president of MVP REIT, a real estate investment trust.
Taylor, R-Friendswood, has represented Senate District 11 since 2013. He serves as chair of the Senate Education Committee and sits on the Finance, Higher Education, and Water and Rural Affairs committees. He also co-chairs the Joint Interim Committee to Study a Coastal Barrier System and has served on the Legislative Budget Board. Previously, Taylor served five terms in the Texas House.
