Hannah-Jones is a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and staff writer at The New York Times Magazine focusing on racial injustice. She is a 2017 award winner of the MacArthur Foundation "Genius Award" and was the author behind the Times’ “The 1619 Project.” In 2016, Hannah-Jones co-founded the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, a training and mentorship organization dedicated to increasing the ranks of investigative reporters of color.

Prior to joining CBS News, he was a national correspondent for The Washington Post, where he primarily covered issues of race and justice. He has twice been a member of teams awarded the Pulitzer Prize, and his work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, GQ, The Atlantic and Sports Illustrated.
