Zermeño has worked for the Texas Organizing Project since 2010, and she currently serves as the director of electoral strategy. Previously, she served as the coordinator of strategic research for the Center for Popular Democracy and was the director of operations for PowerPAC.org. Zermeño also worked for the Service Employees International Union in California and Texas for seven years.
Kumar is the founding president and CEO of Voto Latino, a Latino political organization, and an Emmy-nominated contributor with MSNBC. She serves on the national boards of the Planned Parenthood Federation Action Fund and the Latino Leaders Network. Kumar was named one of the ten most influential women in Washington, D.C., in 2013 and one of the 100 most influential Latinos in America in 2017.
