Amanda Carpenter

Carpenter is the director of Republicans for Voting Rights, a columnist for The Bulwark and a CNN contributor. Previously, she served as speechwriter for former U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina and communications director for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. Carpenter is the author of “Gaslighting America: Why We Love It When Trump Lies to Us,” published in 2018.
