Wright is an author, screenwriter and playwright who joined The New Yorker in 1992. He is the author of “The Plague Year: America in the Time of Covid,” published in 2021, a nonfiction about where we are — and where we're going — in the COVID-19 pandemic. Wright is also the author of “Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood & the Prison of Belief” and co-produced HBO’s Emmy award-winning documentary adaptation. Previously, he worked at Texas Monthly and was a contributing editor to Rolling Stone.
