Grady is a pastor at Prince of Peace Christian Fellowship Church. He is also the father of one of the surviving victims of El Paso’s 2019 mass shooting, where 22 people were killed and 25 were injured. Grady has served as president of El Paso’s Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and as president of the El Paso chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He has been a pastor for more than 50 years.
Blanco, D-El Paso, has represented House District 76 since 2015. He sits on the House Environmental Regulation and International Relations and Economic Development committees. He also serves on the executive committee of the El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization. Blanco is currently running for the Texas Senate seat being vacated by state Sen. José Rodríguez.
Ambler serves as the executive director of Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, which he co-founded in 2013 shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Previously, he worked closely with Senate leaders on the 2013 Manchin-Toomey bill, which sought to expand background checks on gun sales, and with the Obama White House on the 2016 gun safety executive actions.
Giffords co-founded Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, a gun-control advocacy group, in 2013. Giffords served in the U.S. House representing Arizona's 8th Congressional District from 2007 to 2012, when she resigned due to a severe brain injury from an assassination attempt. Giffords became the youngest woman ever elected to the Arizona state Senate in 2000 and served in the Arizona Legislature from 2000 to 2005.
Daugherty serves as the CEO of Emergence Health Network, a provider for mental health care, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance abuse treatment services in El Paso County. Previously, she served as Emergence’s chief clinical officer and as director for Sun City Behavioral Health Care, Emergence’s nonprofit subsidiary. Daugherty has also served as director of clinical services at the University of Behavioral Health in El Paso.
