Author and CEO of Rappler

Ressa is an award-winning journalist, author and CEO of the online news website Rappler, which she co-founded in 2012. She is the subject of Ramona S. Diaz’s documentary “A Thousand Cuts,” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January. Previously, Ressa served as the Manila bureau chief and Jakarta bureau chief for CNN for 17 years.

CEO of The Texas Tribune

Smith is the CEO and co-founder of The Texas Tribune. Previously, he spent nearly 18 years at Texas Monthly, including eight years as editor and a year as president and editor-in-chief. Smith also hosts “Overheard with Evan Smith,” airing on PBS stations nationally.
