Former U.S. Attorney General

Holder served as the 82nd U.S. attorney general from 2009 to 2015 under former President Barack Obama. Previously, he served as chair of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, a political organization dedicated to redistricting reform through legal action, targeting elections and advocacy. Holder also served as deputy attorney general and U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia under former President Bill Clinton.

Atkins is a senior opinion writer at the Boston Globe and an MSNBC contributor, providing on-air analysis and commentary of national political news. Previously, she served as the first Washington, D.C.-based senior news correspondent for WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station, and as the Washington bureau chief for the Boston Herald. Atkins has also appeared as a political commentator on CNN, Fox News, NBC News, PBS and NPR.
