Gloria Steinem

Steinem is a writer, political activist and feminist organizer who became nationally recognized as a leader and spokesperson for the feminist movement in the late 1960s. She is the co-founder of the National Women’s Political Caucus, the Ms.Foundation for Women and the Free to Be Foundation. Steinem was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Barack Obama in 2013. She is the subject of Julie Taymor’s upcoming biopic “The Glorias,” set to premiere this fall.
