H.R. McMaster

McMaster served as the U.S. national security adviser from 2017 to 2018. He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army for 34 years before retiring as a lieutenant general in 2018. McMaster is the Fouad and Michelle Ajami senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He is the author of “Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World,” published in 2020.
