Tom Frieden

Former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Frieden served as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2009 to 2017. Previously, he was the commissioner of the New York City Health Department, where he gained attention for banning smoking in the city's restaurants. Frieden currently serves as president and CEO of Resolve to Save Lives, a five-year initiative to prevent epidemics and cardiovascular disease.
