Anthony Fauci

Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

Fauci oversees an extensive research portfolio with a focus on preventing, diagnosing and treating infectious and immune-mediated diseases. He has been a key advisor to six U.S. presidents on health preparedness initiatives against emerging infectious disease threats such as pandemic influenza and COVID-19. Fauci is the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Science and the Mary Woodard Lasker Award for Public Service.

Wright is an author, screenwriter and playwright who joined The New Yorker in 1992. He is the author of “The End of October,” published in 2020, a fictional novel about a pandemic and its effect on the world. Wright is also the author of “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief” and co-produced HBO’s Emmy award-winning documentary adaptation. Previously, Wright worked at Texas Monthly and was a contributing editor to Rolling Stone.
